What it does

The national medal of honor center for leadership prepares individuals to lead with courage, integrity, and service by delivering immersive, values based leadership education rooted in the enduring principles of the medal of honor. Through programs for students, professionals, and civic leaders, we build strong leaders and stronger communities.

1. Fellowship: the national medal of honor center for leadership fellowship programs empower youth, college students, and veterans to grow as values-driven civic leaders at every stage of life. Rooted in the medal of honor values of courage, integrity, commitment, sacrifice, citizenship, and patriotism, the fellowships provide structured training, mentorship, and opportunities for real-world impact. The junior fellowship engages high school students in immersive bootcamps, monthly leadership challenges, and capstone service projects that build responsibility and civic commitment. The emerging leaders fellowship equips college students with advanced leadership training through innovation labs, structured mentorship, career development support, and opportunities to represent nmohcfl at regional and national events. The veterans fellowship honors military service by preparing veterans for impactful civic leadership through tailored seminars, transition planning, and community engagement projects. Across all three fellowships, participants complete applied projects, develop lifelong leadership skills, and join a strong network of peers, mentors, and medal of honor recipients--leaving prepared to lead change in their schools, careers, and communities.
2. Clpd: our civic leadership & professional development (clpd) program partners with organizations across business, healthcare, government, and non-profit sectors to design and deliver custom values-based leadership programming that addresses their specific organizational challenges and goals. Drawing from our extensive leadership workshop series offerings--including the value of values, leading through crisis, building a courageous culture, effective decision-making, and leading with emotional intelligence--we create tailored learning experiences that integrate medal of honor values with practical leadership competencies for all organizational levels, from front-line staff through senior executives. Our custom programs go beyond traditional leadership education by focusing on measurable outcomes that move the needle on specific performance metrics that are important to our partners. Whether developing high-trust teams, navigating complex decision-making, or building cultures of courage and accountability, our programming combines essential character skills with applicable leadership frameworks that create immediate impact for leaders, teams, and organizations.
3.partnerships: this program strengthens leadership development and ethical decision-making education through customized partnerships with educational institutions nationwide. We work closely with each partner to design solutions that meet their unique needs and student populations by augmenting their leadership offerings with medal of honor values-based leadership content. Our offerings for partners range from executive education courses in values-based leadership for programs offered through business schools to ethical leadership modules tailored for undergraduate student populations. As part of the program, we provide educational resources to faculty and instructors including case studies, short lecture videos, and e-learning interactives that can be directly integrated into a variety of educational experiences at our partner institutions.
