What it does

Rhphf mobilizes resources in support of the goals of the richmond and henrico health districts to improve health outcomes and health equity in our communities. Rhphf manages the richmond health equity fund, investing in and scaling community-based initiatives to address the longstanding impacts of racism across focal areas of health disparity. With the leadership of a community advisory committee, the health equity fund invested in programs, services, and evidence-based interventions focused on communities with disproportionate burdens of poor health outcomes. Targeted areas of health disparity for health equity fund investment included mental and behavioral health, access to care, maternal and child health, underlying conditions, and food access. The projects identified by the health equity fund are designed and delivered by community-based, grassroots leaders and trusted healthcare service providers. In addition, rhphf supports public health programming for young families in henrico, public health workforce needs, and other targeted interventions to improve health outcomes.
