What it does

The organization's mission is to reduce inequality and dismantle community divisions in fort greene and clinton hill, brooklyn. It accomplishes this by 1)promoting the broadest distribution of resources in our community, 2) promoting the articulation of needs by representatives of the underserved parts of the community and 3) promoting the talents and voices of all the community so that the diversity of our experiences is well understood and appreciated.

Food distribution: the organization receives food and grocery donations in support of its fresh pantries program. Fresh produce, refrigerated and frozen foods and groceries are distributed to the communtiy at fresh pantry locations within the community public housing.
Sharing network: the issue of social isolation in homebound seniors, particularily older people of color in public housing, is addressed by establishing social groups averaging less then ten members, using telephone conferencing to connect and communicate. The emphasis for these groups is to facilitate connection for those lacking social interaction, to enjoy intelligent and friendly exchanges and to improve their sense of wellbeing and community.
