In 2025, the RUNX1 Research Program (RRP) continued its mission to fund research to prevent blood cancer in individuals with RUNX1 Familial Platelet Disorder (RUNX1-FPD). RRP awarded grants to investigators across leading academic medical centers, supporting research focused on disease mechanisms, clonal evolution, and blood cancer interception. Key funded programs included independent investigator grants, co-funded partnerships with Alexs Lemonade Stand Foundation, the American Cancer Society (new LEAP grant program), and support for several clinical trials (e.g. pilot study evaluating sirolimus as a preemptive intervention). RRP also continued operating its longitudinal RUNX1 Patient Data Hub, launching a centralized biospecimen bank (RUNX1 Tissue Bank), supporting patient recruitment for clinical research, and engaging the RUNX1-FPD patient and scientific community through its annual scientific conference, patient meeting, educational webinars, peer support groups, and patient-facing resources.
