What it does

Opendoors' mission is to strengthen communities by supporting justice- involved and unhoused individuals as they rebuild their lives. The organization provides emergency shelter, housing, reentry, employment, and supportive services that promote stability, reduce recidivism, and support long-term independence.

Support and assistance for justice-involved individuals returning to the community through comprehensive post-release reentry services. Opendoors provides support through a community-based resource center with drop-in services, transitional housing for men and women, employment and workforce development programming, individualized case management, and advocacy to reduce barriers to housing, employment, and essential services. These efforts promote stability, successful reintegration, and reduced recidivism.
Operation of a 19-unit, multi-family apartment complex that provides stable, affordable housing for justice-involved individuals. This program supports formerly incarcerated individuals by offering safe housing paired with access to reentry supports and community-based services that promote stability, reduce recidivism, and support successful long-term reintegration.
A social enterprise that provides paid, transitional employment and commercial driver training for justice-involved individuals. Participants receive hands-on experience operating freight delivery trucks while building job skills, work history, and financial stability that support long-term employment and successful community reintegration.
