What it does

Tennessee higher education initiative is a non-profit organization that disrupts systems of harm and creates opportunities for autonomy and success through education, support, and advocacy with and for justice impacted individuals.

In this fiscal year, students graduated with associate and bachelors degrees. Students were enrolled in college classes; college prep and many classes were offered. Our policy team has advocated for our students and have provided resources to similar programs in our field. Transitional programs teams meet with incarcerated students for at least a year prior to each students release to plan for re-entry and continues to support students during and after their transition from prison. This fiscal year we launched our first transition home to house our students after their release from prison.
