The Organization's mission is to advance the practices of the addiction profession in California by encouraging innovative research and development, disseminating scientific and technical information, and fostering the education process while promoting the highest quality treatment and prevention services.
The Institutes activities are state focused in scope and primarily geared toward public education by engaging in research and development for the addiction and prevention profession, patients, the public and the media in efforts that elevate public dialog and standards of care in addiction and prevention services.Highlights of this year include some incredible wins as we secured the Learn and Earn Grant to help grow the AOD workforce. We currently have 50 approved schools, 124 approved CE providers and 256 students. As we continue to identify additional training needs in the field, expand approved schools and grow our academy, the Education Board expects these numbers will grow. In addition to these goals we hope to continue hosting culturally and spiritually enriching events such as the Multicultural Conference. In July the Education Board hosted the Ninth Annual MultiCultural Conference in Bakersfield. In addition to a stellar group of speakers the conference included CCAPPs first PowWow which had outstanding participation.
