To support future abortion care providers and advocate for reproductive justice globally.
The student organizing program supports educational events on medical school campuses across the globe. These include both in-person and virtual events such as hands-on workshops, panel discussions, and film screenings on the topics of abortion and family planning. Msfc chapters are engaged in or are planning to reform their schools' official curriculum to include more information about reproductive health and abortion.
The reproductive health externship program provides financial and logistical support to medical students and residents seeking clinical abortion training opportunities not available within their medical schools and residency programs. Program participants receive assistance identifying placement sites and engage in structured, clinical externships at global partner sites, gaining supervised exposure to abortion care in a range of clinical settings.
Msfc's annual conference on family planning brings together members, alumni, and professional colleagues to network and engage in educational programming, skills-based training, and advocacy initiatives. Msfc hosts multiple intensive, multi-day abortion training institutes each year. Attendees receive hands-on instruction from practicing providers and comprehensive education on abortion provision, including clinical presentations on procedural and medication abortion techniques and related care skills.
