What it does

To reduce substandard housing by creating simple decent affordable homes in partnership with people in need in order to improve quality of life and provide greater security.

Performed preliminary site development, planning and construction of several affordable houses on donated or purchased land in the south county area of rhode island.

Operated a store to sell donated building supplies, fixtures, furniture and household goods at low cost, educating customers from the community who visit the store to habitat's house-building mission and volunteer opportunities through on-site displays and contacts with volunteers and staff at the store.

Short term rents from prospective future family homeowners and longer term land lease fees from owners and occupants of affordable homes.
